The new primary database server is already fully replicated and acting as a cascading node to the rest of the secondaries. As such, all that needs doing is nuking the current primary and promoting the new one. Then we just need to repoint our apps to the new primary and voila, everything should be done... unless I do something wrong or have forgotten a step and it turns into a tire fire.
