For context I manage a high-end specialty coffee bar in Venice. I have no friends who watch baseball so I had to share this somehow lol.
He came in, and I thought "No fuckin' way, is that him?" (He was wearing a beanie down to his brows and had a hoodie on).
After I took his order I asked him, "Hey, are you Joey Votto?" he smiled and said "I am." I said, "I'm a huge fan. Well I'm a Dodgers fan, but I thought you should have won MVP this year." He smiled and said "Thanks man." And then he asked me a ton of questions about coffee.
Really nice guy. He even took the time to remember my name, and came and said bye to me when he left. I was always a big Votto fan, but now I definitely am even more.
