The ‘Rock Star’ Artist Carving Portraits Through Time
Alexandre Farto (aka Vhils) is something of a rock star. Instead of adding, the street artist creates by taking away, carving incredibly intricate portraits and murals across the walls of Macao. Inspired by the history the city carries, his work reflects issues of identity, destruction, and our complex relationships with urban environments. This Great Big Story was made in partnership with Macao Government Tourism Office.
