No more waiting for human scientists to get into the office on Monday morning and tell it what to do.
It landed in the Gale Crater, then headed to the base of Mount Sharp a few miles away, before traveling up the mountain, stopping to investigate scientifically interesting places along the route.
Here it is as a tiny blue dot earlier this month on its way up Mount Sharp.

You may also know that Curiosity can shoot lasers at rocks to work out what they're made of.
The instrument it uses is called ChemCam and is the circle in the white box at the top of this mast.
